In 1985 the artist was commissioned by the Mid Manhattan Librarian, Ms. Julia Brody to design and create a glasswork for the entryway transom of the former Constables Department Store on the corner of 40th Street and 5th Avenue in Manhattan opposite the Research Library at 42nd and 5th Avenue. The request was for a work which would distinguish the library from its commercial neighbors. The designs portray a fiery cityscape, multidimensional geometry and the disintegration of structure.
